Clam Digging Adventure
Come meet a local resident who has
been a clam digger since he has been a young boy. You will
learn about some of the ways these hard working men/women
have lived through challenging times in the claming
industry. They will also talk about reseeding there claming
areas to make it more sustainable so there can be clams for
many years to come. Get hands on experience hacking through
sand and mud looking for clams, after this great adventure
we will go to the top of the beach and have a steam clam
treat.

Reach the Top
Breathe crisp salt air into your lungs as you hike 2.5km up
the shoreline to the summit of Gulliver’s Head. There you
will have a majestic view of the whole Cove, spotting seals,
whales and indigenous rare minerals along the way. This is a
photographer’s dream. Straddle the great rare vein of agate,
a semi-precious gemstone set by nature into the band of rocks.
Examine varieties of quartz and rocks before and after they
are sand-tumbled. Become immersed in local culture, facts
and legends and get a birds-eye view of the rip tide when
you “reach the top”.

Dulsing We Will Go
Discover the time-honored method of picking, cleaning ,
drying and preparing the world famous Bay of Fundy Dulse
(seaweed snack) for market. Sample a wide array of dulse
products and learn about the health benefits of their many
uses. Wanda will help you learn to identify nori, rockweed,
kelp and other sea plants. Then indulge yourself in a feast
of dulse biscuits, fried dulse and tomato sandwiches washed
down with a fine cup of dulse tea.

The Beach Less
Travelled
Meander through the trails and to the beach front of
Gulliver’s Cove. This 1.5-2km hike will have you on the
rocks, on the land and maybe even in a little shallow water.
Learn about local legends and the lore of “Cut Throat
Gulliver” the pirate. See the spot where the remains of “Cut
Throat” were thought to be found just 20 years ago.

Land the
Lobster
Journey the “Beach Less Travelled” and
indulge yourself in a feast of pleasures, from the
phenomenal views to your time with Mitchell Scott, a local
lobster fisherman who will share tales and techniques of the
business. Mitchell will “haul” lobster, teach you the
difference between male and female, band the claws and even
demonstrate a sleeping lobster handstand.
